Mr Turabi has spent a month and a half in detention（拘留） after authorities arrested him in May and closed his party's newspaper.

His wife alleged（宣称） he had been apprehended（逮捕，理解） after he repeated an allegation that the country's elections had been rigged（操纵，控制） .

President Omar al-Bashir was re-elected in April.

Critics say the elections - the first multi-party polls since 1986 - were marred by fraud and irregularities（不规则，谬误） .

"Turabi has arrived at his home... We do not know why he has been released," secretary Awad Babiker told Reuters.

Mr Turabi, a former ally of the president, has been detained on numerous occasions since he began his Popular Congress Party.
